On a wonderful September day, Sandra and Bill said “I do” in the type of wedding she had always dreamt of. The pledged “in good times” felt very present. “In sickness” not even a hint of a thought. Thus began their Happily Ever After.

A week later, everything flipped as Sandy became ill on their honeymoon, and the newlyweds learned of Sandy’s diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes - a treatable, but incurable disease that catapulted the reality of their vows to the forefront of the brand-new marriage.

But the diagnosis, too, forced Sandy to reexamine another relationship in her life - her devotion to and understanding of her God. Thus began a restless journey of faith for Sandy and all who love her.

Now, at her 40-year(+) mark of living with Type 1 Diabetes, Sandy takes a raw and sobering look at how her life, her marriage, and her understanding of God has been different than expected.
