Review

"Steven Forrest's writing in The Book of Pluto is so good and riveting it's scary...Steven is a master storyteller - the Ernest Hemingway of astrologers - and you will be transformed during and after this visit to Pluto's realm of enchantment, soul purpose and spiritual power. The instant classic on distant Pluto has finally arrived on earth." -- Mark Lerner, WELCOME TO PLANET EARTH

Product Description

Follow master astrologer Steven Forrest on an astrological journey into the realm of both darkness and the powers that can transform it: the planetary body Pluto. Whether officially named a planet or not, astrologers everywhere agree that Pluto is a major force. With this groundbreaking work, Steven emerged as one of the foremost voices merging astrological practice with the most courageous forms of humanistic psychology. Upon its initial publication, DELL Horoscope magazine described him as "not only a premier astrologer, but also a wise man." Written with both the astrologer and the layperson in mind, his words convey practical and useful information that will help anyone navigate Pluto’s labyrinthine passages. Along with detailed cookbook-style explanations of Pluto in the houses and signs, the reader will also find comprehensive information for working with transits and progressions. This book is your one-stop shop for all things Plutonian. But most of all, it’s a beacon of light in some famously dark terrain, pointing the reader towards the transformative gifts Pluto can bear, if we choose to face our lives with consciousness and compassion. This revised second edition includes new Introduction and Afterword.

About the Author

Steven Forrest is the author of several astrological bestsellers, including THE INNER SKY, THE CHANGING SKY, THE BOOK OF THE MOON, THE NIGHT SPEAKS, and the new astrology classic YESTERDAY'S SKY. Steven's work has been translated into a dozen languages, most recently Chinese and Italian. He travels worldwide to speak and teach his brand of choice-centered "evolutionary" astrology, which integrates free will, grounded humanistic psychology and ancient metaphysics. Along with his busy private practice, he maintains active astrological apprenticeship programs in California, Australia, North Carolina, and Switzerland. He is a founding member of the Ethics Committee of the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR). The musician Sting calls Steven's work "as intelligent and cogent as it is poetic." DELL HOROSCOPE describes him as "not only a premier astrologer, but also a wise man." Callie Khouri, who wrote the screenplay for the mega-hit film Thelma and Louise, praises his "humor, insight, poetry, and astute, articulate observations of human nature." O: THE OPRAH MAGAZINE describes his philosophy this way: "Forrest's approach...stops the blame game in its tracks...we're warriors fulfilling our turbulent evolutionary paths." Actor Robert Downey Jr. says, "I marvel at the accuracy of Steve's readings. He insists that nothing is so grave as to be beyond repair, and correspondingly that there is no rainbow that won't be evaporated by poor judgment in the now. I can't recommend him highly enough." And Rob Brezsny, in his popular "Real Astrology" column, simply calls him "the most brilliant astrologer alive."
