As Bazar states in his introduction, his book draws from “ancient time-proven sleep wisdom to cutting-edge products, from expert sleep-doctor advice to insightful tips, from new research insights to highly successful mind-body methodologies and breakthrough practices.”

The author covers a great deal of territory. Beginning with such basics as the importance of sleep and setting a sleep routine, Bazar moves on to specific methods for sleep improvement. For example, he devotes an entire chapter to how light controls sleep, including the need for natural light during the day and helpful ways to ensure darkness during sleeping hours. Another chapter delves into electromagnetic frequencies, which not only affect sleep but potentially overall health.

Bazar’s discussion of food and supplements is important in understanding the role nutrition and various substances play in sleep quality. A chapter entitled “Body-Mind Techniques for Sleep” offers numerous sleep improvement methods to try, including bathtub therapy, yoga, acupressure, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises. About the Author

Ronald M. Bazar was born in Montreal and educated at McGill and Harvard Universities. He has over forty years of experience as a natural health insider, both as an entrepreneur and as a business consultant.

In the early 1990s, he cowrote and published the kids' workbook I Love Not Smoking!, which sold over a million books to health departments throughout Canada and the US.

He has published several books on prostate health, including the groundbreaking Healthy Prostate: The Extensive Guide to Prevent and Heal Prostate Problems.

A cofounder of the Trust for Sustainable Forestry, he runs a hobby business in his spare time, making wood utensils and jewelry from the famed Arbutus tree.

He currently is a writer, hobby artisan, gardener, and regular Ultimate Frisbee player on a remote island in British Columbia, Canada. He has two daughters and five granddaughters.
