How did you come up with the idea for this product?

In 2005, after years of struggling with digestive issues, Dr. Jen was diagnosed with gluten sensitivity. Gluten is the protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and triticale. Millions of Americans have gluten sensitivity and the more serious condition, celiac disease. Common symptoms of gluten sensitivity include bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, and brain fog.

After her diagnosis, Dr. Jen spent years studying labels and searching for healthy snacks that were free of gluten and still tasted appetizing. This can be a big challenge for many people diagnosed with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.

Determined to fill this void, Dr. Jen decided to create a nutrient-dense snack that was gluten-free, good for digestive health, and even more important: DELICIOUS. It had to be all-natural and high in fiber and protein. She wanted to make something without fake chemicals and preservatives, instead made with ingredients you can pronounce. Something low in sugar but not filled with sugar alcohols.

What makes your product special?

So you buy that sugary cookie and soda, thinking it will make all your problems go away, just to then end up in a gut-wrenching mess on the couch? No? Just us? Whether you’ve always been nutrition-focused, you’re new to the game because the gut just doesn’t work like it used to, or you’ve suffered from chronic bowel issues, we know our bars will fill whatever need you have. We ensure that our bars are gluten-free, free of artificial sugars, full of organic and non-GMO ingredients, and packed with prebiotic fibers.

What has been the best part of your experience?

We have loved helping our customers be happier and healthier with our delicious snacks! Your digestive system has bacteria, but that’s a good thing! We need good, living bacteria in our gut microbiome to help with digestion, and that’s what probiotics are—good, living bacteria in your digestive tract. Like any living organism, probiotics need to be fed to survive. Prebiotics are food for probiotics. One is no good without the other. You could say that eating probiotics without eating prebiotics will have the same effect as buying a goldfish and never feeding it.
