CHAPTER 1: KNOWING YOUR FABRICS
Create a range of simple projects with various different fabrics including quilting cotton, felt, canvas and more.
CHAPTER 2: USING INTERFACING
It’s all about the fabric, right? That is what you see after all… Well, no. Actually not at all. Once you see your sewing with proper interfacing in, you will never go back.
CHAPTER 3: APPLIQUÉ & SURFACE STITCHING
We are now delving into the world of appliqué and embellishment, which will give your item a lot of character (literally).

CHAPTER 4: QUILTING & PATCHING
It might feel as though we are leaving the world of regular sewing for a bit in this section, but bear with me: quilting and patching is simply sewing’s sister. The concepts for both techniques are actually quite simple, and by the end of this chapter you will have all the skills that you need to make a quilt of any size. There will be one or two specialized things to learn, but these really are small variations on what you’ve already tackled!
CHAPTER 5: HABERDASHERY IN FOCUS
We are entering the rabbit hole now – the wonderful world of haberdashery! And what might that be? Haberdashery is the realm of small sewing items used mostly for embellishment, but it also includes fastenings to add more robust, adjustable and secure elements to your sewn items. This is, then, quite a broad group, from buttons, zips, bra clips and toggles through to hooks, eyelets and bag components.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Our sewing journey together is almost at an end and I do hope that you have enjoyed it and learned a lot of new skills. It is useful in these cases to look back to the beginning, as you can really appreciate the sheer amount of sewing distance that you have covered.
