we thought we'd show you what we said below：We didn't realize until we showed this mug to someone that Bone Ceramics is not a product of common knowledge. So, in case you might think that the description on the product page saying "White Fine Bone Ceramic " is a misprint, it's not.

'Ceramics' includes many sub-categories of fired ware. A few of which we know as fine bone china, bone china, porcelain, pottery, stoneware, etc..The firing technique for each is primarily based on the degree of heat that they are fired at and whether or not they contain animal bone ash.

(Bone ash is what creates the true colours and transparency of the piece.) Aside from these 2 factors there are many others that denote what the final product will be.

1. It is also thinner than most cups, it is very light when compared to regular ceramic mugs. Because it is not all ceramic and is a combination of ceramic and bone, it is very lightweight.

2. It transparent, light weight & has a smooth finish. It is thin and light be seems to be very sturdy. The purity of its' white colour is brilliant.

3. If you hold the empty mug up to a bright light, look at the side closer to the light, you can actually see the light coming through the mug wall. The design on the mug is fairly flush to the surface; no noticeable high lines when you run your fingers over it.

4. You need to hand wash these just as you would a fine tea cup. No harsh soap or scratchy pads should be used or even necessary. We don't recommend the bleach method of cleaning any stains. If you are careful not to leave any left over liquids sitting in it and wash it properly you shouldn't have that issue to begin with.

5. This mug has a comfortable handle unless you have very large hands. Bottom weight is good so less chance of knock overs and feels great in your hands. The quality of the cup is great and because it comes nicely packaged it would make a great gift.
