LINEAR VS CLICKY VS TACTILE There are three main categories of mechanical keyboard switches: linear, clicky, and tactile. Linear switches have the simplest operation, as they move straight up and down without any clicky/tactile feedback. Clicky switches are also tactile but generate a audible click and noticeable bump when pressed. Tactile switches create a noticeable bump when pressed, and no clicky noise. SO WHAT IS THE BEST SWITCH FOR GAMING? Typically, the decision comes down to personal preference, and there has been no proven difference on a particular switch providing advantage over another. Linear switches, such as Red Switches, have been long preferred by gamers as it allows for rapid spamming of keys very quickly. Clicky switches are preferred for heavy typers, such as programmers, as it allows you to know exactly when a key has been registered with the clicking noise (aka the actuation point). Tactile switches are the best of both worlds and the most popular type of switch. All the Glorious Modular Mechanical Keyboards come pre-installed with this switch. WHAT IS THE PEAK FORCE? Force required to press a key all the way down The lightest peak force switch is the Clear with 35g, the heaviest switch is Green with 80g The peak force you chose is completely a personal preference
