How to Figure Out Your Enneatype

How to Figure Out Your Enneatype

The best way to discover your Enneatype is by learning about all nine types. A good practice is to write numbers one through nine on a piece of paper and, as you learn about each type, cross off the types that you are definitely not. Many people will be left with their type in the end, and some will have an aha moment with their type as soon as they encounter it.

It’s important to remember that the Enneagram is not a test; it is a framework of understanding. This isn’t quantitative work we’re doing; it’s qualitative. Good results will take more time, and that’s part of the journey. At best, Enneagram tests will point you in the right direction but never confirm your type. Only you can do that. Even then, they’re only helpful if you are self-aware enough to answer them accurately.

You can really only find your Enneatype by reading, researching, and learning. As you get to the core needs, fears, and motivations, one of them will likely become clear to you.
