This is How We Do It, but to Montell and Kristin Jordan, this phrase is more than just the title of one of Montell’s most popular songs. It is a clear statement about how they have approached every day of their more than twenty years of marriage.

When the couple entered a marriage covenant together in front of God, family and friends years ago, divorce was never an option, and today it is still not.

That is quite a stance in a world where divorce is just as accepted (even celebrated) as marriage is, but the Jordans hope to inspire others to see the joys, rewards and peace that comes from marriage through their new book, This is How We Do It! Making Your Marriage a Masterpeace.

Focusing on providing humorous but straightforward Christian marriage counseling, the Jordans highlight important factors to consider, whether you are single, engaged or are married, to help define God’s plan for marriage to others.

Scripture is included throughout Masterpeace to educate readers on how the word meets the world to reveal the covenant blueprint for marriage, God’s reasoning for bringing man and woman together, and how children are to be raised in a godly manner. Faith is important to the Jordans and, as expressed in their book, kept their marriage strong through challenging times in career, family and walks with Christ.

Readers also will get a glimpse of the first meeting between Montell and Kristin, seen by both as more comical than romantic, but that lead to the realization of God’s intervention in their lives to make them one.

Montell & Kristin Jordan began their marriage and music career journey together as artist and manager over 20 years ago, entering into the recording industry with the #1 hit song “This Is How We Do It” less than one year after saying “I do.” The challenge of being married in the music business created an inspiring real life story where following 2 decades of world touring and millions of album sales, they chose marriage over music, faith over fame, and significance over success and allowed God to reinvent their lives to surround their family values and passion to see the covenant of marriage reestablished, and hope restored in the hearts of men and women everywhere.

The Jordans understand the storms that many of today’s married couples are weathering. In a society where divorce has become commonplace and the very institution and definition of marriage is under attack, they have navigated the uncharted waters and returned to share their testimony. Today they travel around the world ministering together from large to intimate settings with intent to have an opportunity to open up their lives to positively influence and impact both married couples and those who desire to be married. The Jordans have served faithfully at Victory World Church in Norcross, GA under the leadership of Pastor Dennis and Colleen Rouse since 2008. Montell is an executive pastor at Victory. Kristin is an author, public speaker, mentor and gifted leader who has a passion for prayer. Together they teach, minister, provide both pre-marital and marriage counseling for ministries, and are parents to 5 wonderful children ages 28-4.
