I wish I had been able to read this book when I was a youngman, fresh out of high school. Author Lou Vachon warns against making themistakes I made when I was in college many years ago. But beyond the avoidanceof mistakes, Vachon's ideas are excellent for helping anyone secure a solidfinancial future. In fact, even though I'm no longer a young person, I'm goingto check out some of the ideas Vachon writes about. Although Vachon targetedhis book to students, every young person should read it. As an adjunct collegeprofessor, I was interested in The Double Monetary Hourglass. I thought theinsights might be useful for me to pass on to my students, and I wasn'tdisappointed.

'Between those who are poor and those struggling financiallylies one common denominator: a lack of good planning.' I cannot emphasizeenough the importance of this quote from The Double Monetary Hourglass. As acollege freshman, I found the book incredibly useful to help me plan my budgetand curb any non-essential spending. I loved how the author, Lou Vachon, gavepractical advice that can apply to any situation. Among the many things that hetaught me, financial journalling stood out to me the most as it doesn't takemuch time. Yet, it created a considerable impact on my finances. I also lovedhow clearly he explained the financial jargon as I could understand it eventhough I had never heard of most of these terms before. For anyone needing helpwith managing your money, look no further for this book will answer all yourquestions!
