OUR FAVORITE WAYS TO USE KOKUM BUTTER

Kokum Butter Cold Process Soap.

You can use Kokum Butter in any of your usual cold-process soap recipes in place of Cocoa Butter for a luscious soap that lathers beautifully. We recommend using up to 5% of Kokum Butter as using more will create a soap that is too hard and could cause cracking.

Kokum Butter Balm.

What you need :

1 oz Kokum butter

1 Tbsp Safflower oil

1 Tbsp Soy wax

12 drops Bergamot

6 drops Blue Tansy

How to :

Yield: 2 oz of body balm

Melt the kokum butter and soy wax in a double boiler, then add in Safflower oil and remove from heat. Stir in Bergamot and Blue Tansy then transfer to a tin container or container of your choice. Apply to scrapes, bumps, rough spots, lips and dry skin.

Heavenly rose whipped body butter.

What you need :

½ cup kokum butter

¼ cup coconut oil

3 tbsp rose infused apricot oil

15 drops rose geranium essential oil

6 drops lavender essential oil

1 tsp arrowroot

1 tsp pink clay

How to :

Place the kokum butter and coconut oil into a glass mixing bowl. Mix with a hand held mixer until it becomes light and fluffy. Scape down the sides as you go. Add the infused apricot oil, arrowroot, pink clay and essential oils. Mix again, starting on low speed and slowly increasing to high speed. Keep mixing until the pink clay is well combined into the butters and oils and the mixture is light and fluffy, then Spoon into your glass jars and seal.
