Coriander seed appears just twice in the Bible, but both references are in descriptions of the manna that falls from heaven as Moses and the Jews wander in the desert. The manna, a gift from God to help His people survive after their rapid departure from Egypt, resembles coriander seed in its light color.

Exodus tells us that its sweet taste brought joy to a people who, moments before, had believed they would perish after all, even though God had led them out of their misery as slaves to Pharaoh. Distilled from coriander seed, the woody, spicy oil finishes with a light fruity note.

Bright, soothing coriander is believed to be an analgesic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, deodorant, digestive, fungicide, and stimulant. It also goes great with bergamot, cinnamon, ginger, grapefruit, orange, and neroli.
