COMPLETE MEAL PLANS & 100 RECIPES

INGREDIENTS
Makes 6 ¼ cups (1.55 L)

· 1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef

· 2 medium onions, chopped

· 28-oz (796 mL) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

· 10-oz (284 mL) can tomato soup

· 1 cup (250 mL) water

· 1⁄8 tsp (0.5 mL) pepper

· 1⁄2 tsp (2 mL) chili powder

· 1 tbsp (15 mL) vinegar

· 1⁄2 tsp (2 mL) Worcestershire sauce

· 1 cup (250 mL) chopped vegetables, such as celery or green pepper

CHILI CON CARNE

Chili freezes well. You can easily double the recipe for freezing.

1. In a large, heavy pot, brown ground beef. Drain off as much fat as you can.

2. Add all the other ingredients to the pot.

3. Cover with a lid and cook for 2 to 3 hours on low heat. Stir every now and then so the chili doesn’t stick. Add extra water if it gets too thick.

Serve the meal with brown or white rice. Add a low-calorie vegetable such as yellow beans or green beans. Carrot sticks are served on the side.
