Kathleen L. Sitzman, PhD, RN, CNE, ANEF, FAAN, has received numerous awards for her scholarship, mentorship, and teaching, including the Jean Watson Award for outstanding scholarship in caring science from the International Association for Human Caring (2007–2008). She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, and the International Association for Human Caring.

Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, LL (AAN), is Distinguished Professor and Dean Emerita, College of Nursing, University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Center campus, where she held the nation’s first endowed Chair in Caring Science. She is founder of the original Center for Human Caring in Colorado and is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing; past president of the National League for Nursing; and founding member of the International Association of Human Caring and International Caritas Consortium.
