Preparing meals in a slow cooker is a convenient and delicious way to feed your family healthy, home-cooked meals with little fuss and time. It’s also a simple and easy way to make homemade foods for your baby. One of the greatest things about making your baby homemade food is that you teach your baby about the tastes and textures of foods the family eats.

When to Begin Feeding Solid Foods:

  • Good head control
  • Has outgrown the tongue-thrust reflex
  • Sitting up in a seat with very little assistance
  • Frequent need for feedings
  • Interest in the food on your plate
  • Hand–eye coordination
  • Strong pincer grasp (able to pick up bits and pieces with the thumb and finger)
