WHAT ARE THE CHAKRAS?

Deep down each one of us knows that we are more than merely a body. We all feel our own essence—and the essence of others—underneath our physical forms. Quantum physics has shown quite clearly that matter is really just energy, which means that first and foremost you and I are vibrational beings.

The chakras are the key centers of your personal energy field that reside along your spinal column. They interface with your physical body through important nerve plexuses and glands, therefore they are the gateway through which your spirit affects your physical body.

SEVEN CHAKRAS

In the most popularly accepted system, there are seven chakras that span vertically from your tailbone to the top of your head. From the bottom up, they are: the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and crown.

In that last exercise, the first six qualities are associated with each of the six embodied chakras like this:

1. Strong = Root
2. Sensitive = Sacral
3. Focused = Solar Plexus
4. Caring = Heart
5. Purposeful = Throat
6. Intuitive = Brow

The odd-numbered qualities are masculine and the even-numbered qualities are feminine. Because your chakras pulsate consistently between masculine and feminine energies, we’re all innately set up for energetic, yin–yang balance. Still, navigating these polarities in a physical body can be challenging. One thing that really helps is being aware of the places in your body where these opposing energies meet.

Using Applied kinesiology to Assess Your Own Chakras

You can muscle test your own chakras as well. Here are the steps:

1. Create an okay symbol with your left hand, and then create one with your right hand and interlock your two okay symbols like links of a chain (see image).
2. Say the statements about each chakra that are outlined in the exercise for testing another person’s chakras on page 102.
3. For each statement, simply try to pull your okay symbols apart, while consciously trying to keep them together. If they stay strong and intact, the statement is true, and if they weaken and break apart, the statement is false.

HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS

There are three distinct ways you can enjoy the benefits of essential oils. You can use them topically, that is by applying them to your skin, use them aromatically, or (with properly approved oils only!) you can even ingest them. Whatever method you choose to use, start by purchasing some high-quality therapeutic essential oils. Many of the scented oils that are used for cosmetics, soaps, and other products have a nice smell, but don’t carry the healing frequencies of therapeutic oils.

If you’re on a budget, make sure to spend enough to get good-quality essential oils, and then save money on the carrier oil you use for diluting it. Whenever possible, use organic carrier oil, and always make sure that it’s not rancid before adding in the more expensive essential oil.
