Product description

'Why Sandgrens?' You may ask. The short answer is that clogs is our passion.

At Sandgrens, the art of clog making has been passed down to our next clog master for generations and we take much pride in that. That is how we know the importance of high quality, natural materials and the difference they make to keep your feet happy. If you, like us, are tired of mass-produced shoes, you have come to the right place.

We believe craftmanship is something worth holding onto - that is why each of our clogs is still handcrafted at our factory in the deep forests of Småland, Sweden, with the finest leathers and the highest quality wooden bases available. As a result, Sandgrens clogs are clogs you will love for years and years to come.

Sandgrens Swedish High Heel Wood Clog Sandals for Women | Rio Grande Size Guide

Sandgrens Size Guide

FIND YOUR SANDGRENS SIZE

Unsure about your Sandgrens size? Don’t worry, we’ll help you.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Stand up straight on a solid surface with your heels against the wall and a piece of blank paper taped to the floor.
  2. Measure both feet from your heel to the tip of your longest toe to ensure proper fit.
  3. Compare your measurement against the sizing chart.

Note: Many people have slightly different sized feet. This is why we ask you to measure both feet and take the longest measurement to ensure a proper fit. The chart shows the actual base measurement of the foot bed.

WE ARE TIRED OF MASS-PRODUCTION

handmade clogs

Handmade

We at Sandgrens think that making clogs is an art form worth holding onto, which is why we still create all our clogs by hand in Sweden.

natural materials

Natural Materials

We believe in natural materials and in a timeless design that never goes out of style.

From Sweden

Sandgrens is one of the few original clog manufacturers to still be made in Sweden. We think that is pretty special and we sincerely thank our customers for making this possible.

handmade production

Unique

Your clogs will be completely unique. In fact, no two pairs that leave our factory are identical - a result of the handcraftsmanship done by our clog masters.

1

Wear your new clogs indoors for short periods of time, initially. We recommend wearing your clogs for a couple of hours per day over the course of a few days to get a good start of the break-in process.

2

If you experience any pain in the first step, we recommend wearing socks with your clogs until they begin to soften. You may also massage the leather in between wears to soften it up.

3

We do not recommend wearing your clogs for an extended period of time before they are uniquely shaped to your foot, as this may cause unnecessary pain and blisters.

what to avoid

We advise you to avoid using water or any heat source (e.g. hair dryer) to try to speed up the break-in process. This will simply result in a short-term fix and will either dry out the leather or ruin your clogs completely.

vegtan

CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER

Vegetable tanned leather is the purest form of tanned leather as it does not contain synthetic coatings and since natural materials such as tree bark are used during the tanning process. Initially you may find the leather to be more rigid than our other leather types, but rest assured it will break in.

There might be scars and marks on your vegetable tanned leather, which should not be seen as defects, but rather the result of leather being a living material. Vegetable tanned leather clogs (other than the nude color) can be polished with shoe polish or cleaned with any common shoe cleaner.

veg tan nude

CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: NUDE VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER

Our nude-colored vegetable tanned leather has the same characteristics as any other color of our vegetable tanned leathers but with one difference; the color will darken over time. With just a few hours of direct sunlight, you will notice the leather starting to form its own unique, warm color. There is no way to stop it from darkening - nor should you! It is a sign of quality and the natural processes used to make it.

If your clogs are made from the nude-colored vegetable tanned leather, please know that it doesn’t have the same protectant as other vegetable tanned leathers. You cannot use any conditioner or protectant sprays on the nude leather without altering the color.

nuck

CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: NUBUCK LEATHER

Nubuck is naturally sensitive to water. The leather is designed for light moisture, but your clogs are not water resistant. This means they should not be your companion next time you are out in the rain. Moreover, do not apply shoe polish to your clogs. Instead, we recommend using a horsehair brush regularly to avoid any dirt turning into a permanent stain.

If you accidentally spill something on your nubuck clogs, use a cotton cloth to soak up the spill. You may also gently use a rubber nubuck brush, followed by a horsehair brush to remove stains and dirt from the leather. With the right care, your nubuck clogs will last you a lifetime.

wooden clogs

CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: WOOD BASE

We do not recommend wearing your wooden base clogs in heavy rain, as it may result in the wood swelling.

Keep in mind that wood clogs are rigid and will therefore not stretch or bend. Although rigid, wood is a fragile material that is subject to chips and/or cracks from striking hard surfaces. If you do chip your wood base, you can glue the piece back using regular wood glue or use sandpaper to even out the surface, depending on the size of the chip. Sandpaper can also help remove marks and dirt from the wood.
