H. Cody Meissner, MD, FAAP
 
Dr Meissner is a Professor of Pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine and Head of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Service at Tufts Medical Center. He is additionally a consultant to the Committee on Infectious Diseases (Red Book Committee) for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). From 2008 to 2012, he was a member of the Advisory Committee on Infectious Diseases (ACIP) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He presently serves as a member of the National Vaccine Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
 
H. Cody Meissner received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and a medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. After completing a pediatric residency at Tufts Medical Center, he spent 2 years at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, focusing on adenovirus transcription. He then returned to Boston to complete a pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Microbiology at Harvard University.
 
Dr Meissner is the author of more than 200 original reports, reviews, and book chapters, as well as AAP and CDC Policy Statements. He authors the monthly column “ID Snapshot” in AAP News.
