Maca root is an edible plant that is native to the South American soil of Peru. It is a biennial plant packed with a wide range of amino acids and other vitamins and nutrients.

Why Herbolab Gelatinized Black Maca Capsules?

Herbolab takes pride in formulating our black maca capsules that are a combination of 80% black, 15% purple, and 5% yellow maca. This combination allows you to get the most health benefits out of the maca root.

You have probably heard or read about different forms of Maca supplements. The words “gelatinized” and “raw” are two of the most common terms attached to the labels.

A raw maca supplement is subjected to less heat which allows them to keep most of their nutrients. However, this form is high in starches which makes it difficult to be digested.

Gelatinized maca undergoes a pressurizing process wherein the starch content is removed, making it easier for the body to digest. However, this method tends to lose a fair amount of its nutrients.

For our black maca capsules, Herbolab uses a more recent approach to gelatinization which makes use of low-temperature in gelatinizing the root. This process involves complex machinery and low temperatures that both allow for the maca to strip off its starch content while preserving its nutrient profile.

We also prefer maca capsules over maca pills. Capsules tend to break down more quickly than tablets, so we opted not to have maca root pills. [8]

We've had questions if we have maca root for men or maca root for women. areHerbolab maca root capsules for men and women is how we approach it, and each individual is different, so test daily dosage by half and work your way up if need be.
