Why swaddle an infant?
Swaddling is one of the easiest ways to calm a newborn
Making sure your baby feels safe and secure is the first step in keeping many newborn infants calm and happy. This can greatly reduce the amount of time your baby will spend crying and improve your quality of life as a new parent. Swaddling can be a very effective tool as it makes the infant feel as if it is being held tightly in a womb-like state. This feeling encourages babies' sound sleep.
How long should I swaddle my baby?
The average age to wean from swaddling is around 3-6 months, after which the Moro, or “startle” reflex, lessens. Many babies do benefit from the comfort of being swaddled longer than that. Once your baby has begun to roll, pediatricians advise to stop swaddling immediately.
How do I know which size will fit my baby?
Choose a correct size by measuring around your baby’s chest just below the armpits, around the widest part of rib cage. The small size fits chest circumference between 13.5-17 in / 34-43 cm. The large fits 16-20.5 in / 41-52 cm.
If your baby is between sizes (but at least 16”) we recommend the large, as it will last longer as baby grows. (But if chest is less than 16” the large will not fit.)
How to swaddle your baby with the Swaddle Strap
Step 1
Lay swaddle on a flat surface. Place baby centered between the two pillows with the top of the inner strap aligned with baby's armpits. Lay the inner straps over the baby's chest -- snug but not tight.
Step 2
Gently place baby's arm behind the left pillow, hold pillow down with one hand while you use your other hand to close the outer strap over the baby's arm.
Step 3
Hold down the left outer flap and right pillow while you pull the right flap over to secure. Place the second flap wherever feels snug and secure on your baby.

The legs free design allows you to swaddle baby while strapped into a swing and to change diaper while swaddled. Secured arms prevent babies with eczema from scratching themselves. Please use chest circumference (not age or weight) to determine the correct size. To measure baby's chest, use a soft tape measure around the widest part of baby's chest under the arms. Small fits chest 13.5" to 17" (34cm-43 cm-Newborn to between approximately 3-5 months). Large fits chest 16" to 20.5" (41-52 cm-age ranges from 2 months and up).
