From the Publisher

The fossilized resin has produced unique chemicals that support human vitality

The hidden structure of Baltic amber

Baltic amber contains unique compounds that support the human brain and body.

Succinic acid supports mental and physical activity; restores vitality, increases the body’s

protection. That compound is often used during alcohol poisoning and reduces the craving for alcohol. It slows down the aging process of the body at the cellular level. In case of diabetes of any form, in the complex therapy succinic acid is used to lower the content of cholesterol, fatty acids and ketone bodies in the blood and reduces insulin demand as well

as stimulates the body to produce its own insulin. Succinic acid along with glucose increase

the body’s efficiency during training, allow the body to quickly and easily adapt to increasing

physical stress, decrease the pain of over-trained muscles.

Various colors of Baltic amber

The different colors of amber are the result of the interaction of the resins of various prehistoric trees.

An important component of amber is succinic acid, discovered in the 1930s. Succinic acid is a natural intermediate product of the metabolic processes and is found in every cell of the body. It takes part in the oxidation of the nutritional ingredients. Succinic acid is formed in the Krebs cycle and then it is used in the intracellular reactions in the body.

During stress, the metabolites which are involved in the energy production are rapidly broken down. Succinic acid plays an important role in this process, participating in the energy transformations in mitochondria.

Unique amber colors

Sometimes the traces of trees and leaves survive on amber.

Avicenna Ibn Sina in 1019 mentioned that amber has a positive effect

on improving the work of the heart, stomach pain, fainting, fever, decreasing nausea and

stopping vomiting. One of the recommendations was of the use of amber to accelerate the

regeneration of the broken bones, while in the case of the skinny people to gain the weight.

Old amber tree artwork

An old engraving of a dripping resin from a tree.

Pliny the Elder in Natural History, cited by Callistratus, recommended wearing amber

beads for sore throats and tonsil diseases. In the years 1098 In 1179 it was recommended

to put pieces of amber in beer, wine or water, and to use it for 14 days after eating in

order to help overcome diseases of the stomach and intestines. In turn putting the amber in

cow’s or sheep’s milk for a day was supposed to contribute to improving the functioning of

the urinary system.

Brain and neurons, healthy and attacked by Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia. The disease is associated with neurodegenerative

disorders, including progressive memory loss, difficulties in reasoning, and

in using language. Personality changes can occur in some people. There are currently no

effective pharmacological agents to cure the disorder.

The first descriptions of Alzheimer’s disease appeared in 1906. The disease was first described

by a German researcher A. Alzheimer. The name of the disease derives from his

surname.

There is currently no therapy that can reverse the inexorable neurodegenerative process.

Platelets and plaques made of protein are found in areas responsible for learning and memory,

and for emotional behavior. Work is still ongoing to eradicate Alzheimer’s disease,

but it seems to be a very difficult task. Inflammation of the nervous system and abnormally

formed peptide aggregates (Aβ) damage synapses and neurites in the brain. “Communication

lines” in the brain are disrupted.

Cell diagram

Baltic amber supports the nerve cells and the human brain

Administration of succinates has proven to be an effective remedy for brain damage. Mitochondria are power plants in the body’s cellular system. ETC (electron transport chain) requires an oxygen supply. Succinate can support endangered mitochondria.

Amber tree

Mysterious trees formed Baltic amber

"Amber Forest" and its plants have taken over the area of the so-called Fennoscandia, an area that today includes Northern Europe and the Baltic region. They were subtropical trees, although some of them may have grown in a temperate climate. The fossils show the existence of about 300 types of amber-bearing trees. Today there are no such trees anymore, just as there are no dinosaurs today.
